My basketball story

I've been practicing my basketball skills for quite some time now and I have to say that it has been quite the rollercoaster! After all, I started playing when I was very young but a knee injury stopped me from getting out on the court again for quite some time. I didn't want to do myself any more damage but I kept thinking to myself, wouldn't it all be worth it to feel that adrenaline rush again? So I got out my old shorts and I started to dribble. After a few crossovers, I felt my rhythm coming back and you just can't beat the rush that you get from that. Some guys came up to join in and it really was one of the best moments of the year. Obviously there was a little friendly competition involved but other than that, all was good. One thing that I have always wanted to do is dunk the ball. I have never been able to do this and ever since my knee injury, I've been held back more than ever. With all the guys on the court, I didn't want to look as though I couldn't hold my own, especially because it was being filmed by some of the people on the street. That was when I decided to go for it. I ran up, dribbled past the first defender and did a layup to secure the basket. As I leapt into the air, I felt myself soaring to new heights and I thought to myself, if I'm ever going to dunk, now is the time to do it. It all happened so fast, but I quickly felt the cold rim on my fingers and I knew that I had done it. The best thing is, it was all caught on camera. To say that I feel on top of the world right now would be an understatement.
